Hopkins HPS08-HW Hydraulic Chainsaw for cutting a range of materials including hard woods used in the marine and civil engineering environments. It is suitable for hard wood and plastic materials using a special vacuum braised diamond chain or for concrete, including reinforced concrete plus masonry and natural stone with a diamond segmented chain.
The HPS08 hydraulic chain saw is designed for demanding marine and civil engineering environments where timber cutting must be controlled, accurate and reliable. When fitted with the vacuum-brazed diamond PowerGrit chain, it is particularly effective on dense marine hardwoods such as Greenheart, Opepe and Ekki, commonly used for piles, fendering, jetties, pontoons, lock gates, dock structures and coastal protection work.
A choice of guide bars and chains provides cutting depths from 25cm up to 63cm, allowing operators to tackle substantial timber sections in harbours, marinas, docks and shoreline installations.
Hydraulic operation delivers smooth, controllable cutting performance with reduced vibration and no exhaust emissions at the workface, making the saw well suited to confined, wet and sensitive marine locations. The grinding action of the PowerGrit chain minimises kickback and provides a safe method of cutting. Due to the type and nature of PowerGrit chain used on this saw, only standard PPE is required with no special training considered necessary.
For added versatility, the same saw can also be used with the PowerGrit chain for cutting hard plastics such as HDPE as well as cast and ductile iron.
Force 4 Trident chains for concrete, masonry and stone are also available. This makes the HPS08 a flexible tool for repair, removal and maintenance work where a wide range of construction materials are encountered together.
