EC Hopkins were approached by a construction company with an unusual and difficult task to complete. The contractor was renovating some ex-council buildings and needed to replace doorways and windows as part of the renovation. The building had been constructed in an unusual way and needed extra support putting above the windows. It was decided by the architect that a piece of angle iron would suffice for the job but the contractor was struggling to cut vertically upwards into the concrete to create a slot suitable to take the angle.
After an onsite demonstration of the ICS 695GC Petrol Diamond Chainsaw the customer purchased the saw to complete the task. The 695 performed this difficult job efficiently and safely ensuring the windows and doorways went in, on schedule and to cost.
ICS Diamond Chainsaws are ideal for plunge cutting using the nose of the guidebar which was required for this task. Plunging enables the operator to perform deep, small or large accurate cuts in reinforced concrete, brick, block or natural stone. The saws use a grinding action with diamond segments as opposed to cutting teeth, this makes them extremely safe to use.
