EC Hopkins had an existing client who were familiar with using the ICS695GC petrol saw for creating door and window openings, typically in solid brick walls. The customer had won a large job where they needed to cut over 40 large window openings, but this for large windows but this time the walls were approximately 50cm thick.
The maximum depth of cut that can be achieved using an ICS Petrol Saw is 40cm, cutting to 40cm, clearing the blockwork and going again was going to be slow, laborious and would not create the neat accurate cut the company were looking for. The ICS 890 can cut upto 63cm in depth so was the ideal tool for the job and provided the customer with an excellent addition to their capabilities.
The ICS 890 Hydraulic Diamond Chainsaw can be fitted with 25, 38, 50 and 63cm guidebars and chains. The 890 also uses ICS Force4 chassis as opposed to the smaller Force3. Both chains utilise ICS patented Seal Pro technology which reduces chain stretch in abrasive environments, but Force4 chain is 1.5 times stronger than standard chains so resists these abrasive environments superbly.
The client purchased the full hydraulic setup including ICS P95 Power Pack after a demonstration proved that the 890 could cut the 50cm solid brick walls rapidly, accurately and cost effectively. Now our customer has both the Petrol and Hydraulic saws at their disposal so can select the most appropriate tool for each task.
